The City has been successful in promoting locally produced products overseas and gaining the attention of foreign companies to locate facilities within the community. The pro-active effort has resulted in a healthier local economy, continued infrastructure improvement, and built a vibrant and ethnically diverse culture in Carrollton.

In 2008, MONEY Magazine ranked Carrollton 15th in the country as the Best Place to Live and Forbes Magazine recently ranked Carrollton #12 for "America's Best Places to Move." Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s (DART’s) Green Line arrived in Carrollton in2010, ushering in a new era of tremendous opportunity – for developers, citizens, potential residents and businesses—in the form of transit-oriented development (TOD) opportunities. Carrollton’s future calls for reflecting on, and connecting with, the rail lines that now carry people to three new DART light rail stations. The stations link Carrollton directly to Dallas, other Metroplex cities, and eventually DFW Airport.
